The Proposals

Our proposals to revitalise Portland House will celebrate the building as a brutalist landmark. The principle changes are outlined below;

Introduction of a new ground plus 14-storey extension on to Bressenden Place creating a range of new flexible office spaces.

Replace the windows, clean the façade and introduce new plant equipment and lifts within a refurbished building.

Introduce a range of commercial uses at ground floor level to activate the site.

A publicly accessible restaurant and bar at the 28th and 29th floors which would be accessed via two new external lifts. Adapt the ‘crown’ of the building to maximise the views of London from the restaurant and bar.

Remove the existing barriers around the building and create new level landscaped public realm.
